Playoff Format and Maps Announced

Playoffs will consist of a single elimination format. There will be 4 weeks in the playoffs which will produce the best team in the 2008 BF1942 Showdown. The playoff maps have been selected to reflect the same types of formats played during the regular season. That is why each week will focus on Infantry, Capture the Flag, and Conquest skills. In the European Division, the winners of each subdivision will be guarenteed either 1st or 2nd seed based on record, and the remaining 6 seeds will be picked from the divisions based on records.

The playoff Maps are as follows:
March 9th - Abandoned City 5v5 Infantry
March 16th - Wake CTF
March 23rd - Tobruk Conquest

The Finals Map will be announced following the first week of the playoffs. The format for the finals map is based on a poll found here:

Week 1: January 13th: 8v8 Conquest - Battle of the Bulge
Week 2: January 20th: 5v5 Infantry - Stalingrad
Week 3: January 27th: 8v8 Conquest - Bocage
Week 4: February 3rd: 5v5 Infantry - Forager (custom)
Week 5: February 10th: 8v8 CTF - Battleaxe
Week 6: February 17th: 8v8 Conquest - Kharkov

I am pleased to announce that your BF42 community leader, Soldiers of Virtue, will be hosting yet another BF42 related tournament starting in January 2008.

Im going to do things a little different this time. I want to include all aspects to Battlefield. So our format will include:

8v8 Conquest
5v5 Infantry
8v8 CTF

I am thinking a 6 week season followed by some playoffs. Map list is in the ruleset.
