Soldiers of Virtue

Fall 2005 BF1942 8v8 Tournament Rules

This tournament will consist of a double elimination format. The team that makes it through the tournament with out losing two times will be declared the winner. The matches will be determined by the Tournament director the following day after the previous week's matches have been reported. Matches will be posted in the offical Fall 2005 BF1942 Tournament Forum which can be found below. In the fourms, you may contact the other team regarding server choice, time and date the match will be played and all other questions. You may also wish to contact the other team's captain by email if you so wish.

A match will follow this format:

When a team wins, they will advance to play the winner of another match. When a team loses for the first time, they will be placed in a Loser's Bracket to play the loser of another match.

It is possible to make it all the way through the loser's bracket and play the champion of the winner's bracket.

Maps for the tournament will be announced each week and will be at the discretion of the tournament director. Possible maps include both the original BF1942 levels as well as the Road to Rome Expansion.

Each player wishing to participate in this tournament is eligible for one and only one team. Team switching week to week or once your team has lost will not be tolerated and could cause the entire team to be ejected from the tournament.

Team captains will submit a list of players that they feel will play on their team before the tournament begins. You may select as many players as you would like knowing that some players might not show or play just one match.

There will be zero tolerance of cheating in any way during this event. A team and or player that is caught cheating will result in that team being disqualified from the tournament as long as there can be shown just cause for this action.
Final interpretation and decisions of all rules and actions for this tournament will be at the discretion of the tournament director.

The server settings for the 8v8 Tournament are the same as the 8v8 settings used in TWL with the exception that the CTF will be 20 mins and not 30. The server settings can be viewed below

Finally, enjoy this tournament and have fun. This game has been a delight to us all over the years and we owe this game one last attempt at a great tournament. GL HF!
