Fall 2005 BF1942 8v8 Tournament Rules
This tournament will consist of a double elimination format. The team that makes it through the tournament with out losing two times will
be declared the winner. The matches will be determined by the Tournament director the following day
after the previous week's matches have been reported. Matches will be posted in the offical Fall 2005 BF1942 Tournament Forum which can be found below. In the fourms, you may contact the other team regarding server choice, time and date the match will be played and all other questions. You may also wish to contact the other team's captain by email if you so wish.
A match will follow this format:
- There will be three rounds to a match. The first team to win 2 rounds out of the 3 rounds in the match will be the winner of the match. The match will be played until there is a 2 round winner unless both teams agree to reschedule due to it becoming to late to finish the match.
- The first round shall be 2-20 min conquest rounds with the teams switching sides after the completion of the
first side
- The winner of round one shall be the team that won the selected map by the
most tickets. This follows the traditional TWL 8v8 format
- There shall be allowed a five min break in-between rounds and a three min
break in-between switching sides.
- The second round will be a 20 min CTF round. Side choice for the CTF match
will be determined at random each match by the use of a coin by the tournament
director
- If both teams agree to switch the prechosen side for the CTF match they may
do so.
- In the event of a tie between the first two rounds, a third round will act as
a tie breaker. This will be another 2-20 min conquest round with the winner of that round by
the most tickets advancing.
- In the event of a tie in the CTF round and a trade off of wins for each team
on the conquest rounds, the match will be decided by another 20 min CTF match
with the first score equaling win.
- Teams will play the opossite side that they played in the first CTF
level.
- If this round is tied again, the round will be continued until there is a
winner by switching sides each time and adding 10 secs to the respawn time.
- Server selection will be chosen by the tournament director at random. Unless there is a noticable ping problem, "Home" team will have their choice of server where as the "Away" team will have first choice of side selection for both conquest rounds. In the event of a server crash during the match, the round that was being played will be replayed in its entirety. In the event of a ping problem with the home teams server choice, the match will be played on the better of the two servers for overall avgerage team ping. If the "Away" team doesnt have a server, they will have to play on the "Home" team server unless they have another server accessable to them.
When a team wins, they will advance to play the winner of another
match. When a team loses for the first time, they will be placed in a Loser's
Bracket to play the loser of another match.
It is possible to make it all the way through the loser's bracket and play
the champion of the winner's bracket.
- However, to be declared the winner of the Tournament, that winner of the
loser bracket would have to beat the winner of the winner's bracket two times
total.
Maps for the tournament will be announced each week and will be at the discretion
of the tournament director. Possible maps include both the original BF1942
levels as well as the Road to Rome Expansion.
- There also will be custom maps used in this tournament which will be
available to download before the match is to be played by all teams. These
customs could include most of the maps already used in TWL ladders
Each player wishing to participate in this tournament is eligible for one and
only one team. Team switching week to week or once your team has lost will not
be tolerated and could cause the entire team to be ejected from the
tournament.
Team captains will submit a list of players that they feel will
play on their team before the tournament begins. You may select as many players
as you would like knowing that some players might not show or play just one
match.
- "Ringers" will be tolerated as long as the other team agrees to these
players before the match begins. Once the match has begun, all players playing
are considered eligible and the match will be played out till there is a winning team.
- Team captains may submit to the tournament director at any time another
player wishing to join the teams roster.
There will be zero tolerance of cheating in any way during this event. A
team and or player that is caught cheating will result in that team being
disqualified from the tournament as long as there can be shown just cause for
this action.
- Any and all cheaters will be reported to TWL in which may cause a suspension
and or ban from competition on their site and you will be reported to
punkbuster
Final interpretation and decisions of all rules and actions for this
tournament will be at the discretion of the tournament director.
The server settings for the 8v8 Tournament are the same as the 8v8 settings
used in TWL with the exception that the CTF will be 20 mins and not 30. The
server settings can be viewed below
Finally, enjoy this tournament and have fun. This game has been a delight to
us all over the years and we owe this game one last attempt at a great
tournament. GL HF!
