We have nothing else better to do right now, so login TeamSpeak to pub some poker with us! The game of choice right now is Texas Holdem. We are competing in nightly "Sit and Go" tournaments and we go for any advantage we can get by trying to all be sitting at the same table. This way, we know at least 3 of the hands at a 9 man table at once :-)
We are also looking for new recruits such as this:

If you know someone like this, please refer her to Cocytus as he needs Poker Lessons!!

Posted By: Gump

Soldiers of Virtue is proud to announce SoV Leagues
The moment is here at last. SoV has a new home for your leagues and tournaments. Instead of individual sites for each event, players can now login to one main hub that has the ability to support multiple events at once:
http://www.soldiersofvirtue.net/leagues/
With this new site, players may now login to the webpage, edit their profiles, create teams, and manage their rosters. Team captains will have the ability to add players, remove players, and change clan info with out having to go through an admin. They may also participate in multiple events at once as a clan.
Also, we are very happy to annoucne the first two events on SoV Leagues:
The 2008 BF2 Draft co-sponsored by HBS Clan
BF1942 Operation: Reignite
Both of these events will be getting underway very soon. The 2008 BF2 Draft will feature a random team generation from all the players that signed up in an 8v8 format. This type of event has not been done in recent years for the BF2 Community. Operation: Reignite is another chapter in the long list of SoV sponsored BF1942 games. You wanted them, we are giving them to you!! Format and rules are still being formulated and the event should start in late April or early May.
Check out the sites and start signing up for our first two events today !!

10/23/2007Fall Update
Posted By: Gump
Soldiers of Virtue is looking to host 2 events for the community this Fall. This could be the first time we have ever ran events that might even overlap at once!
The first event will be the Forgotten Hope 2 Tourmant. The official site for this event can be found here:
http://www.soldiersofvirtue.net/FH2tourney
This event will be shorly following the release of FH2, a mod for Battlefield 2. We are unsure at this point when exactly this mod will be released. We are hoping that it will be November 2007 which was previously announced.
The second possible event is a new concept. We are looking to hold a BF2 Draft event which can hopefully start before Christmas time. This event will be utilizing either a new custom game mod for BF2 or perhaps even going back to an older version of the game. Our hopes with this change of pace is to draw people to come back to the game. The community has been playing on version 1.4 for over a year now and the gaming has reached its peak it seems.
More info on this can be found in our forums under the BF2 Draft Tournament Forum.
We hope that many new gamers will begin to play in both of these events coming up at SoV Gaming!

06/25/2007A fallen hero remembered
Posted By: Gump

As most of you probably know by now, one of the original members of Soldiers of Virtue, Alex Savoie, passed away on June 14th, 2007. Alex, aka "Savoire", was involved in a car accident just a few days before his death. The doctors believed that he would have a good chance of recovering fully from the crash. After a day or so in the hospital, the doctors were alarmed by the swelling that was occurring in his head and neck area.
Alex was in a coma for just over 2 days when he was pronounced brain dead on Thursday morning. It is a tragedy that has been felt not only in this clan, but as well as his friends, family, and the entire gaming community.
Savoire was probably the 1st or 2nd recruit to join SoV way back in March of 2004. Over the years, we all got to know him on a personal level as well as along side of him on the battlefield nightly. He was a true champion and a very graceful person to know and compete with each and every battle. He was the type of guy that was always giving of himself to others with out even thinking about the time it would take from his day. He helped many members of this clan with their own PC problems just about anytime they needed him to be there.
Most of the clan referred to him and his like as "the crazy frenchy." It was very easy to recognize him on Team Speak because of his accent but also because he was always joking about something or having some name to call us in his funny manner. He started out not really fitting in on all levels because of the language boundary that existed and also the cultural differences. But over the course of three years, Alex became one of the most unique members we have ever had amongst us. His personality and wit made him a pleasure to spend time with and a key asset on the battlefield.
His love in gaming was being a tanker. He never really enjoyed anything else in all his time here. He would often cuss or cry when we made him do anything else and worse of all for him was anything to do with infantry! He simply would refuse or sign off when pissed off. That was what made him so great. He had a way about him that you just simply had to love the guy. He is someone that this clan will never forget and someone who we all will remember for all our lives.
To remember Alex, Soldiers of Virtue has decided to play the TWL BF1942 Summer 2007 League. Since we started playing BF42 together and formed the clan while Alex was with us, we figure it would be what he would want us to do again. He often wanted us to play together nightly and lately it has been tough with being a multigaming clan and not knowing what the next game will be for us all. So, for the next couple months, look for us on the battlefield wearing a special tag in front of our names.
We are saluting Alex by wearing this tag to remember him in our daily battles: [Savoire]
He will always be a Soldiers of Virtue to us.
